I´d like to share with you my impressions of another very worthy school in the British Midland region, northwest of Birmingham, which I visited as part of a group of agents from the British Boarding School Workshop conference.

I want to introduce you to Ellesmere College, located in the picturesque countryside of Shropshire, England.

History and Atmosphere of the School

Ellesmere College was founded in 1884 and since then has maintained rich academic traditions, which are complemented by a modern approach to education. As soon as I entered the school grounds, I was greeted by a calm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately immerses you in a sense of coziness and safety. Stone buildings and manicured lawns create the impression of a school with a rich history and deep roots.

The school has an international reputation, with children from more than 30 countries studying here. This makes the learning environment multinational and culturally diverse, which is especially important in the modern world. During my visit, I noticed how friendly and natural the students interact with each other, which indicates a comfortable atmosphere for students who live and study on the school campus.

Academic Opportunities and the Learning Process

One of the strengths of Ellesmere College is the academic program, which offers students the opportunity to choose both traditional British qualifications GCSE and A-level, as well as international programs such as the IB (International Baccalaureate). This gives students a wide range of options for choosing a university and specialization for further education.

During my visit, I met several teachers, and they told me that at Ellesmere College, the emphasis is not only on academic success but also on personal development. Individual attention to each student is one of the priorities of the school. It is important to note that Ellesmere College has small classes, which allows each student to receive more attention from teachers.

Extracurricular Activities and Sports

I was impressed by how important a place sports plays in the lives of students. The school offers excellent sporting facilities and is particularly proud of its achievements in cricket, swimming and tennis. The school grounds include modern sports facilities, including a swimming pool, tennis courts and golf courses.

The sports infrastructure was impressive: a tennis pavilion with 4 hard courts, and a multi-sports hall with numerous volleyball and basketball courts, which can easily be converted into courts for any other team sport.

For those who are not interested in sports, the school offers a variety of other activities - from music and theater to debating and art. During the tour, I visited a rehearsal of the school drama studio, music and art studios, where impressive work by students was presented. We saw first-hand the many talents of Ellesmere College students, both in lessons and by listening to their concert in the school chapel.

Accommodation

Ellesmere College offers comfortable accommodation for students. The school has several cosy boarding houses, most of which are single and double, with en-suite triple and quadruple rooms for the youngest. The rooms are bright, well-equipped and have a homely feel.

Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the school. Each boarding house also has access to a common room and TV room where children can relax.

Conclusion

Ellesmere College left a very warm impression on me. This school is an ideal place for those who are looking for a balance between high academic standards, an active social life, and all-round development. The school's location in the Midland region ensures that your child will experience British traditions and a modern approach to education, making it an attractive choice for families seeking to give their children the best.

If you are looking for a school for your child where they can not only receive a quality education but also develop as a person, Ellesmere College is worth your attention.
