The opinion of the student on entry to the school Amadeus

One of my students, Tanya studied in International School-Salzburg durind grades 10 and 11. For graduation, the family decided to transfer her to a school that had an IB program.
As Tanya knows German and English, I offered them international schools in Austria and Germany. After submitting the documents in the selected schools, Tanya was invited for entrance exams and interviews in two IB German schools and one school in Vienna - Amadeus.
After visiting schools Tanya told me about her impressions of each school (two schools in Germany St. George's and BBIS) and why she had chosen the school Amadeus.
The location of Amadeus school
We came to school by car from Salzburg, so I didn't realize how far it was from the center. But on the map it was clear that this is kind of a district, which divides the historic centre from the residential areas. It is very beautiful residential area, very green, with a large park.
We stayed at the hotel next to the school, because in the morning I was scheduled to visit the lessons, have tests and interviews. The centre of Vienna can be reached in 20-30 minutes: at first the trolleybus and then the subway.
The school atmosphere
I liked the school immediately . At first, I visited two classes. I was chemistry and mathematics, which I loved. Everyone in the class was doing group tasks. The teacher explained the material, and then ask students to do group project. Of course, I didn't understand how they do it, but everyone was so excited that I had looked differently at the math.
Then I was invited for an interview, and everyone was very friendly. We talked about school, encouraged to ask questions.
School Amadeus joined the IB program recently. Before that it was a school teaching in English language in Vienna, which specialized in music. Now the music is still important - all the students play something. Every year the school organizes a big concert, for which they rent a separate Concert Hall. The school has a lot of Austrians, among them different ethnic groups. Also, many students from Asia and South America. There are Russian, but not in the class I visited, no in students Dorm - I did not meet any Russian.
Amadeus school facilities
The school is in a beautiful historic buildings. There are 3-4 building on the park grounds. Student residence in in one of these buildings, occupies the top two floors while on the ground floors are classes.
I liked the science lab, students were doing experiments. It has big music school, every student can play on the selected instrument individually and in a group. In the morning I tasted a variety of food, all were delicious. There are playgrounds. I play tennis, so I was interested in tennis courts - there were open courts but in winter you can play in the hall.
Also, I liked that there was a large drama studio and many students plaid in the theater.
I have chosen to study further in Amadeus, because I like Austria and I prefer to stay here for graduation. Amadeus is much better than my previous school in both infrastructure and teaching. I have been very glad when I was offered a place.
